FAT est pour le moment très petit et n'est absolument pas complet (il manque des tas de trucs, comme la sauvegarde, le chargement, les effets ...) mais on peut déjà s'amuser avec. L'interface s'inspire beaucoup (beaucoup) de celle d'LSDJ en rajoutant quelques touches persos.

FAT est libre et OpenSource: il est gratuit et le code source est téléchargeable pour ceux qui souhaitent regarder comment c'est fait (et éventuellement me dire que mon code est à chier, ce qui est fort probable puisque ca faisait vraiment vraiment longtemps que je n'avais pas touché du C ... ). La doc est pour le moment disponible en français seulement : elle est en cours de trad pour une version anglaise.

Codebending is the exploration of software with "patch points." Patch points expose the inner workings of computer programs, and allow for atypical connections between things like games, music making software, office suites, etc.

illucia is a USB device with physical jacks that correspond to software patch points, which can be connected and disconnected using patch cables. Thus, illucia is a console for routing information between computer programs, and opens strange relationships across systems that don't usually interact - it turns systems themselves into play objects.

I've written several codebendable games / programs that open their inner workings via patch points. Fascinating and unexpected things happen when connecting otherwise-unrelated programs:

Video games can play other video games. Music synthesizers can control word processors. Feedback loops turn everyday software tropes into generative art. Simple AI is patchable. Anything controls (and can be controlled by) anything; in codebending, every system becomes an instrument with a unique voice, ready to control, and be controlled.

illucia is a physical instrument to explore these kinds of connections - it is a way to treat systems as playgrounds.

Une rencontre impromptue pour une basse et une guitare.
Deux musiciens qui voyagent entre noise et mélodie, formes écrites et improvisées.
Au travers de multiples projets et collaborations en musique (ROSA, Nicolas Dick, Raymond Boni), cinéma (Lieux Fictifs, Le Dernier Cri), spectacle vivant (Generik Vapeur, SB03), Virgile Abela tend à mettre sur le même plan matière sonore et composition musicale, à enchevêtrer de manière organique tout élément susceptible de créer tension, douceur et lyrisme.
En parallèle d’études de composition, David Merlo mène différents projets où se croisent au fil des rencontres les genres et les formes : du métal au noise, du jazz aux musiques improvisées, de la musique de chambre à celle pour ensemble, collaborant avec le geste et l'image.

KANDINSKY (free jazz noise, Lyon)
Kandinsky est né sous une forme duo (guitar & drums) en 2006, avec laquelle ont été enregistrés l’album « tRASKOMI eLACÄAST » (Gaffer Records) et un split avec le groupe allemand Gentle Veincut. Kandinsky existe depuis 2010 en trio (sax, bass & drums), et a récemment enregistré son album « Machin » (Gaffer Records). Leur musique est orientée free jazz et impro noise. Des parts d’impro libre viennent se mélanger à des textures et atmosphères lourdes. Dernièrement, ils ont pu partager la scène avec Volcano the Bear, Ten Volt Shock, Don Vito...

LEON/ANDREA PARKINS (2bass & impro jazz, Suisse/USA/Marseille)
Léon est un duo de basses composé de Raphaël Ortis et Louis Schild , formé pendant une rencontre initiée par le Micro-Festival et l'Insubordinations netlabel en janvier 2011.
Cette rencontre a permis de travailler et de fixer certains principes d'improvisation et de mieux cerner la dynamique du jeux à deux basses.
Assez rapidement, ce projet s'est étendu et devient maintenant un duo à géométrie variable en invitant un batteur ou percussionniste différent pour chaque concert, permettant de renouveler en permanence le langage sonore. Déchirements mécaniques ou grincements organiques, l'instrument est un outil d'expression instinctive du son dont la forme se doit d'être perpétuellement re-sculptée.
De cette manière, les choix esthétiques fondamentaux sont liés à l'instrumentation de base, à savoir deux basses, et s'inspirent des rencontres pour élargir le propos artistique en gardant comme ligne directrice l'improvisation libre et spontanée.
Pour cette tournée, Léon invite Andréa Parkins, figure emblématique de la scène new-yorkaise : compose et improvise sur l'accordéon traité électroniquement, sur ordinateur portable, sampler et claviers électroniques. Andrea Parkins prolonge le son de l’accordéon avec différentes sources électroniques analogiques et fragmente la syntaxe traditionnelle de cet instrument populaire par du bruitage grâce aux pédales d'effet et autres irruptions sonores perturbatrices. En concert, son approche singulière de " la boîte à frissons " entre en collision avec la puissance polyrythmique de son jeu de clavier et un travail original d'échantillonnage sonore.

Considéré comme l’un des éléments forts de la scène psyché/minimale,
Hendrick Weber est Pantha du Prince, et il est surtout l’un des producteurs les plus intéressants du moment.

Auteur de deux albums majestueux sur le label Dial (“Diamond Daze” en 2004 et “This Bliss” en 2007), ce producteur allemand a clairement franchi un cap avec son troisième album “Black Noise” en 2010; enregistré dans les Alpes, sensoriel, intriguant, organique, d’une densité rare, mais surtout ovationné par la critique, où il flirte une nouvelle fois avec une certaine forme d’hypnose, mélangeant avec brio ses différentes influences et en mettant en avant son sens de la mélodie mélancolique.
Cet album vient d’ailleurs de connaitre une suite avec la sortie fin mars 2011 de “XI Versions of Black Noise”, où participent entre autres Four Tet et Walls. On notera enfin qu’outre une récente collaboration avec Panda Bear, il a notamment remixé Depeche Mode, Bloc Party et Animal Collective. Son live, pourtant très “noir”, ne l’empêche nullement de rallier des foules de plus en plus nombreuses acquises à sa cause.

Imagerie gothique, pochettes lugubres et musique hantée, la witch house propage sa fièvre depuis l’Amérique, à travers deux labels essentiels: Disaro et Tri Angle. Trésor caché des voûtes Disaro, †‡† (à prononcer “Ritualz”), responsable d’un remix plutôt très réussi de HEALTH, nous vient de Mexico. Charmant pion obscur et capital de cette scène en pleine excitation, †‡† arrive pour la première fois en Europe !

How To Dress Well is Tom Krell, a philosophy student who splits time between Brooklyn and Cologne, Germany. His debut album “Love Remains”, a lo-fi electronic RnB concept, has been released by Tri Angle, the label behind releases from Balam Acab and oOoOO., and it is probably one of the best records in 2010, acclaimed by Pitchfork (8.7/10, best new music), RA, Drownedinsound (9/10), FactMag, and even Humo and Rif Raf amongst others. HTDW creates music that is provocative and compelling. Though the arrangements are remarkable, it is Krell’s singing voice that truly carries this record. At the heart of each song there is a chorus of disarmingly beautiful vocal lines that are as angelic as they are harrowing.

Comparisons have been made to hypnagogic-popsters James Blake, Jamie Woon, Twin Shadow and oOoOO. HTDW recently made a remix for Matthew Dear, and has already been confirmed at both Sonar and Roskilde festivals in June 2011. Very first and exclusive appearance in Brussels !
