La team Vagina Dentata remet le couvert à bord de la péniche Antipode pour fêter l'arrivée du printemps, le retour du soleil, les jours fériés, la nouvelle saison de Games Of Thrones... mais surtout la sortie de sa première compile évidemment disponible sur place et joliment nommée du sobriquet VAGINS & DRAGONS.
Si si, des vagins dans l'espace au pays des Warhammer sauf que là, c'est quand même un peu moins prise de tête pour se taper une tranche de lard en kilo de blagues. Les habitués du crew, Tasmo, Fourmi, Riposte, J’ean Carton envoient la purée avec leurs camarades, que vous avez peut-être déjà croisés si vous les suivez: Morusque, (nit) et Slivanoë. C'est sans compter les frasques de jeunes talents émergeant tels que Louis Poutre, Fanascisme et MC Sakoch. Le tout joliment empaqueté par les soins de Peter&Steven.

Pour un événement tel que celui-là, on vous devait bien une soirée haute en couleurs et bières renversées, le tout dans un roulement de tambours renversant. Quoi de mieux que Radio Chacal pour animer ce début de soirée.
Radio quoi ? Si si, deux mercredis par mois, cette bande de chacals sèment la zizanie jusque dans les plus hautes sphères de la chaîne alimentaire, du wax digging aux mp3 mal encodés.
Une Radio Chacal en live c'est quoi ? C'est, de 20h à 23h30, des jeux, beaucoup, des disques, énormément, un JT passionnant, des flash infos sur tous les fronts, du rire par kg, des larmes parce que du drame aussi, le championnat régional de Thumb Fighters et des cadeaux à gagner, des beaux, et parfois aussi un peu contraignants pour le reste de la soirée. Un spectacle de 7 à 77 ans comme les jeux MB de votre enfance, quoique 7 ans c'est peut être un peu juste.

Pour la suite de la soirée, si vous pratiquez le Wet Danceflooring, VD et Radio Chacal sont allés vous chercher des Dj franc-tireurs à faire pâlir des tirailleurs sénégalais. Une terre de contrastes, alliant grands écarts arithmétiques et guerriers massaï sur dos de licornes Power Metal.

Selecta J.J.R (Jean Jacques Ritalson) // (Lez'arts dans les murs – Montreuil). L'homme de Montreuil est un michto-zulu passant ses disques sur Michtomaradio (tiens dont?) et dans tous les endroits qui veulent bien se frotter à lui. Il a clairement la main lourde sur le hold-up de disques du fin fond de l'Afrique, de la Caraïbe et plus loin encore. On a l'impression que l'homme à connu les coups d'états des pires dictatures. Ça nous rappelle aussi qu'il n'y a pas que les boites à rythme, les synthétiseurs et les laptops qui parviennent à fracasser un dancefloor.

Certain aspects of music got VERY strange in the late '60's-early '70's; changing sounds and trends brought about big changes in the type of records that were pushed as hit singles.

Records intended for the AM radio market cranked up the ODD-ometer, and some downright FREAKY tracks were released which never became hits but survive as relics from a very different age. An age where remnants of the psychedelic sound mated with bubblegum songcraft and a pinch of the 'HEAVY' rock (without the ...'n' roll) fused together.

“Secret Thirteen Mix 030” is a supernatural musical selection which explores diverse hypnotic rhythmical and atmospheric collisions between thirteen authentic records of such notable artists as Pauline Oliveros, Archie Shepp, Pete Swanson and other talented audio projects.

The author of the mix is Max (unknown surname), better known as High Wolf, a French experimental music artist. Active since 2006, Max has released numerous of records on such record labels as Not Not Fun Records, Holy Mountain, Dekorder, Moamoo and his own shamanistic independed label called the Winged Sun. A lot of people also recognize Max from productive band collaborations with Mr. Neil Campbell on Iibiis Rooge or Voodoo Mount Sister where he fuses psychedelic drone together with Chicaloyoh. An exclusive musical style of Max has promptly become globally recognizable because of his modern view to ritualistic, spiritual compositions. It even could be called a contemporary meditative music there are no religious suggestions and you can everything interpret by yourself. He is a well traveled mysterious person and his cultural knowledge emphasizes and extends the sounding of the music he makes and compiles.

“Secret Thirteen Mix 093” is a profound and coherent collection of slightly eclectic music that indirectly shaped Cassegrain’s musical identity. The duo thoughtfully compiled and skillfully merged 17 expressive records that smoothly and continuously maintain the whole cinematic mood and substance of the mix. All the high quality and conceptual records were released between 1934 and 2013. However, it is hard to detect the fact that music was selected from the different periods of time, because Cassegrain has proceeded most of the tracks through various hardware devices to achieve an overall aesthetic relevant to their own production. This subtle extra layer completely weaved slightly interfering textures, structure and tonality of sometimes capricious compositions and also gave more dynamics and magnetism to the wholeness. Remarkably balanced condition of obscure atmospheres, occasionally appearing gloomy rhythms, complex and contemporary experimentations with sound and effects are the fundamental of this constantly growing and expanding chef d’oeuvre. The sublime collision between works of such prominent composers as Morton Feldman, Gérard Grisey, John Carpenter and such authoritative electronic music producers as Aphex Twin, Fennesz, Der Zyklus, Mokira simply impress and fully involve the listener into its lightly dark and figurative narrative. There is also music incorporated from Cassegrain’s release “Coptic E.P.” on Prologue and an excerpt piece from Heliaden soundtrack by Hüseyin Evirgen composed for Toihaus Theatre. An interesting aspect of the mix is that the significant part of it contains Greek musicians such as Giorgos Batis, Giannis Aggelakas & Nikos Veliotis, Mohammad. This specific information lets every inquisitive and attentive listener to analyze each of Cassegrain member’s impact to the whole mix and to observe more of their individual musical portraits.
