AMVK was born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1951. She studied graphic design at the Fine Arts Academy of Antwerp. Since then she has been busy making works of almost all kinds. One such work is the band Club Moral, a sociable but also difficult industrial noise band she started with her partner Danny Devos on January 1, 1981. “Dirty band,” one of my friends has commented about them, with a degree of admiration. Club Moral, as the name suggests, was also a space. Run out of AMVK’s house in Antwerp, the club served drinks and ran towards the boundaries of the permissible with art, performances, and music shows.
