“This mix is dedicated to the memory of Torsten Fenslau, who died twenty years ago on November 6th 1993. Fenslau was one of the pioneers of the German techno sound, as a DJ and a producer. He gained fame (and notoriety) as the producer behind Culture Beat but was also responsible for a number of EBM, New Beat and Trance hybrids like Die Kybernauten and Ideas 4 Imitators alongside Jens Zimmerman. His H3 Radio Shows are still the subject of much interest as well as the sets he played as resident of the cult Dorian Gray club in Frankfurt, alongside Mark Spoon, Sven Vath and other German dance music originators. This mix showcases some of his music alongside some of the tracks he made big via his sets, tracks which join the dots between EBM, New Beat, Techno, Pop and Trance” – ‘Semtek’ (Owner of the label – Don’t Be Afraid)
