For 5 years the band Rien Virgule criss-crossed the roads of France. They published one acclaimed record Trente jours à grande échelle.

Consistent with all the musics that enliven them – scholarly and popular, electronic, contemporary, written and improvised, trance, rock, traditional, experimental – they deliver a radical and visceral approach to Pop music, using this hackneyed term in the manner of groups like the Residents, White Noise, Napoleon XIV...

Classical structures as “couplet-refrain” serve here as a playground and an experiment, where rhythmic, melodic and noisy functions merge together. A drum, synthesizers and some unidentified sound objects welcome Anne Careil’s heartbreaking voice. It’s like The Big Blue, but in red.
